A Pair of Arrests Following Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Attack

The assault resulted in the temporary closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 car park.

An additional two individuals have been arrested in connection with a robbery at Heathrow Airport where 21 people were injured by a substance believed to be pepper spray, as stated by law enforcement.

A man, 24, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area on suspicion of theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. They both are still being held, the force said.

These detentions follow an investigation into an assault at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the attack, two women were robbed of their luggage upon exiting a car park lift.

A three-year-old girl was one of the those hurt in the event. A total of five individuals were taken to the hospital for medical care and were later released.

Officers detained a 31-year-old man on suspicion of theft and assault close to the scene. He was subsequently released under investigation as the investigation proceeds.

Authorities were called at about 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of a number of individuals injured by an irritating chemical thought to be pepper spray.

The attack - an event that police said was a standalone incident and not being treated as an act of terror - resulted in delays to rail services and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking facility briefly.
